Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Mumbai Crime Branch police arrested a man on Saturday night near Gammon India Mall in the TT Nagar area of the city over alleged involvement in online betting fraud.
According to sources, the city crime branch police were informed by the Mumbai Crime Branch that a team would arrive to arrest a man identified as Sudhanshu Dwivedi. He was allegedly involved in an online betting fraud case.
Sources say that the police first confirmed the location of the accused, after which a team from the Mumbai Crime Branch came to Bhopal and arrested him. It is also learned that his wife was apprehended as well. Reportedly, the arrested couple owns a luxury car worth ₹1 crore.
Probe on
DCP Crime Bhopal, Akhil Patel, told Free Press that two individuals were taken into custody by the Mumbai Crime Branch team from an apartment in the TT Nagar area. Patel further stated that the local police were informed about the action in advance.
The accused and his wife were immediately taken to Mumbai by the crime branch team for further investigation.
The arrest was led by the Mumbai Crime Branch with the support of the Bhopal Crime Branch.
