Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The launch of the Chief Minister Jan Vishwas Abhiyan appears to have put the School Education Department on alert, with the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) rushing to collect details of infrastructure deficiencies in government high and higher secondary schools across Madhya Pradesh.
The DPI has asked districts to report requirements for additional classrooms, laboratory rooms and pending maintenance works.
The information is being sought through the Infrastructure Requirement 2026-27 Google Drive.
The order directs district nodal officers, during their school visits under the Jan Vishwas Abhiyan, to identify infrastructure requirements and get the details compiled from schools.
District education officers have been asked to ensure that the information reaches the DPI by Aug 22.
The short deadline indicates that the department is now seeking a consolidated picture of infrastructure deficiencies across the state.
However, the exercise also highlights that several government schools continue to require basic facilities, including adequate classrooms and laboratories, even as the department has been undertaking various school infrastructure programmes.
The DPI has instructed officials to prioritise the identified requirements so that the necessary works can be completed within the prescribed timeline.
