Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal police issued a look out circular (LOC) against Canada-based film-maker Leena Manimekalai on Thursday, according to the police.

Deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Crime branch, Amit Kumar confirmed issuance of the LOC on Thursday.
In reply to a question he said the police were capable of issuing the circular.
Earlier, an FIR was lodged with crime branch police in Bhopal under section 295A of IPC first against Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra for a controversial remark on Goddess Kali and then the film maker Leena Manimekalai on a complaint.
The action came after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan dubbed the TMC MPís remarks and portrayal of Hindu Gods and Goddesses in films highly objectionable and unfortunate.
Chouhan had said, 'Mahua Moitra's statement has hurt sentiments of Hindus. Insult to Hindu deities will not be tolerated at any cost. We are not opposed to anyone but no oneís religious sentiments should be hurtÖAn FIR has been lodged in Madhya Pradesh. I had already said we would not spare anyone. We would not tolerate insult to mother Kaali.'
The filmmaker had tweeted a controversial poster of her documentary film "Kaaliî which shows the Goddess smoking and holding an LGBTQ flag.
Talking to media persons on Thursday the Home minister Narottam Mishra said, ìWe are writing to the Centre for the look out notice on the ground of the FIR lodged against Leena Manimekalai. Her act seems to be deliberate."
Moitra, at a conclave, in response to the row over the "Kaali" poster, had said she has every right as an individual to imagine Goddess Kali as a meat-eating and alcohol-accepting deity, as each person had his or her unique way of offering prayers.
