Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A forest ranger in Banja forest range of Chhatarpur district issued a press release in the media and termed all the allegations levelled against him as baseless. In the release, Pastor said that he had been discharging his duties with honesty while remaining in service in the forest department.

“To tarnish my image, some people of the department are spreading false and baseless rumours on social media. Because of my honest image, they are jealous. The top officials of the district have given me the charge of Bajna range after getting approval from the headquarters. I have also been in charge of Bajna Range for many years in the past. The department has not received any complaint against me,” he stated.

Risked my life

While posted in Bajna range, using my salary in the scorching summer, I constructed houdis at many places in the forest area to provide drinking water. I freed hundreds of acres of forestland from the clutches of the mafia without caring about my life. The forest land was occupied by some people in Bharatla Beat, which has been freed.

Prevented teakwood smuggling

There is a very dense forest in the Bajna forest range, the highest number of teak trees are found in the Bajna forest range in the entire district. Their protection is difficult as the forest mafia keep an eye on them. “During my stay, fear prevails in the forest mafia, due to which they do not even look at the forests,” Pastor added.
