Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Income Tax department officers have recorded the statement of former transport constable Saurabh Sharma’s mother on Monday.
She reached the I-T office around 12 noon and stayed there till late evening. This is for the first time that I-T officers have summoned her for questioning in connection with the case wherein cash Rs 11 crore and 52 kg gold were seized from an abandoned vehicle.
Though it is yet to be ascertained that who owns the huge cash and gold but the I-T department fathom that it belongs to Saurabh who is believed to be staying in Dubai along with his wife.
There is an eerie silence at the house of former transport constable Saurabh Sharma in E 7 Arera Colony. His mother stays at the sprawling house. The gate of the house remains closed for most part of the day. It gets opened only when servants go inside the house. Media gathering outside the house has diminished to naught.
A camera has been installed at the entrance gate of the house so that house insiders can see who is standing at the door. All of a sudden, the house of Sharma has become a topic of discussion among locals. They are unable to believe that he had accumulated so much wealth during such a short stint as a transport constable.
Another under construction house of Sharma is situated at some distance and its construction work has come to a grinding halt after the raid of Lokayukta police and Enforcement Directorate. Both children of Sharma are believed to have moved to their ancestral house in Gwalior.
