A terrifying video of a large truck, with the driver stuck inside, hanging over a collapsed bridge after a landslide in China's Guizhou has surfaced. In the video, the person filming can be heard saying the driver, There’s no mobile signal and advises him to wait for the fire department to arrive for the rescue. The video is of Tuesday, 24 June.
Reportedly, the truck driver was later rescued. According to Reuters, an investigation into the cause of the collapse is ongoing. The Houzi River Bridge collapsed around 7:40 a.m. due to a landslide after heavy rain. Multiple rivers in Guizhou burst their banks after days of rain as the East Asia monsoon intensified.
No casualties were reported following the collapse of the highway bridge. Reportedly, drone footage showed three unoccupied construction vehicles beneath the fallen span.
