Hanumangarh, Rajasthan: A disturbing case of animal cruelty has surfaced in Hanumangarh, where a camel was subjected to severe mistreatment for the sake of entertainment. A viral video circulating online shows a woman dancing atop the animal, which was placed on a raised platform under the scorching sun. The camel’s legs appeared to be tied, restricting its movement while a crowd watched in silence.
The footage, shared by the animal welfare organization Street Dogs of Mumbai, sparked significant outrage on social media. The NGO, in an Instagram post, condemned the act, stating, “This is NOT tradition. This is NOT culture. This is pure cruelty!”
The incident has raised serious concerns about the treatment of animals under the guise of entertainment, with activists urging authorities to take immediate action.
Animal rights activists argue that such acts of cruelty should not be normalised, calling for stricter enforcement of animal protection laws. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and other advocacy groups have also demanded legal consequences for those responsible.
