Lucknow, April 3: In a major announcement, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has unveiled plans to recruit over 81,000 personnel in the Uttar Pradesh Police during the 2026–27 financial year, marking one of the largest hiring drives in the state’s history.
The recruitment will cover multiple posts, including constables, sub-inspectors, radio assistant operators, computer operators, and confidential sub-inspectors. Officials said some recruitment processes have already begun, while others will be carried out in phases. T
he Chief Minister emphasised that the move aims not only to generate large-scale employment opportunities for youth but also to build a modern, efficient, and technology-driven police force.
Focus on transparent recruitment process
Strict instructions have been issued to ensure that the recruitment process remains transparent, fair, and time-bound. Authorities have also been directed to use technology extensively to eliminate irregularities and improve credibility among aspirants.
Strengthening policing infrastructure
Alongside recruitment, the government is focusing on strengthening policing infrastructure, improving response systems, and enhancing cyber security mechanisms.
