UP CM Yogi Adityanath Launches Sharp Attack On Opposition During Vision 2047 Debate (VIDEO)

Addressing Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, CM Yogi described him as “a seasoned and experienced figure” who speaks sensibly when relying on his judgment, but “runs into problems when swayed by others.” Lightly jesting, he said Pandey sometimes recalls chicken, adding with a laugh, “There’s no restriction on eating and drinking.”

Lucknow: On the final day of the Assembly’s monsoon session, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp offensive against the opposition. Welcoming all members — particularly the Leader of the Opposition — to the Vision 2047 debate, he interwove his remarks with poetry, verses from the Ramcharitmanas, and shayari.

Referring to the ongoing discussion on the state’s Vision 2047 roadmap, CM Yogi said the marathon 24-hour debate itself was an eye-opener for those who cast doubts on the legislature’s relevance. “It is all a matter of perspective,” he noted, adding that Uttar Pradesh is now the epicenter of India’s energy. Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “Today, Uttar Pradesh has become a beacon of hope and expectation for the nation, leading the way as India advances its vision of Viksit Bharat in the Amritkaal of independence. This Vision 2047 will lay the foundation for Viksit Uttar Pradesh within Viksit Bharat, making this the best time to chart our next 30-year journey.”

Commenting on opposition statements, CM Yogi recited: “Inki zabaan ka jadoo bada haseen hai; aag laga ke bahaar ki baat karte hain”. He observed that the opposition seemed more focused on securing power than on driving development. “Those who plundered settlements at night,” he quipped, “are the ones now speaking of ill fortune.”

CM Yogi, dubbing the PDA as the “Parivaar Development Authority,” said, “This reflects your mindset. Swami Vivekananda called this ‘Koop Manduk’ — a frog in the well. That’s your vision. He said, "While the world moves forward in competition, you remain confined to your family. You’ve fallen victim to the Parivaar Development Authority and now want to make the state a victim as well.”

Taking aim at the Leader of the Opposition over MSP, he said, “Till 2016, you deceived farmers, purchasing their grain through middlemen. Today, farmers get the benefit directly through DBT.”

Hitting out further, CM Yogi remarked, “If you can cheat the cow, you can cheat anyone. You drank its milk but abandoned it on the roads, even handed it to butchers. Under the double-engine government, cows are sheltered in 7,727 Gau Ashray Sthals. You enjoyed the cow’s milk but showed no gratitude. The curse of Gau Mata will drown you, so abandon dreams of returning to power in 2027.”

Quoting poet Pandit Shyam Narayan Pandey to Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, CM Yogi said, “Not everyone inherits the legacy of UP. This is the seat of Mahakal — no one rules over it.” Taking a jab, he added, “We won’t talk about Mathura-Vrindavan right now, because in 2016 you announced plans to build a memorial for Duryodhan.”

Mocking an opposition member who claimed ownership of Vision 2047, CM Yogi said, “What a vision! From 1947 to 2017, all you had to show was an incomplete network, stagnant investment, and stalled industries. That’s your vision.” He questioned the opposition’s stand on Swadeshi, entrepreneurs’ interests, industrial closures, and mass migration before 2017. Highlighting his government’s efforts to promote ODOP products, he urged people to use locally made goods during festivals.

He added, “Whenever a foreign dignitary visits me, I gift them products made here. But you — you got Queen Victoria’s carriage from Buckingham Palace for Saifai Mahotsav and birthdays in Rampur. What kind of conduct is this? This is your double character and vision; you speak of freedom but practice servitude.”

CM Yogi also took a swipe at Shivpal Singh Yadav, remarking, “Chacha Bhi Gacha Kha Gaye” Addressing the Leader of Opposition on the alleged school closures, he said, “You should not have made such statements. Let me make it clear — the state government is not closing any schools.” Inviting Mata Prasad Pandey to visit an Atal Residential School, he added with a jibe, “Swatantra Dev Singh has made the Bilari MLA take such an oath that he doesn’t know what to do next. These kinds of oaths shouldn’t be taken — now he’s confused about whose name to swear by and in whose name Khanna ji should take the oath.”

On education, CM Yogi said, “We teach children G for Ganesh and G for Gamla, but you taught them G for Gadha. You promoted cheating in examinations. Don’t make innocent children victims of your twisted political mindset. Over the last 40 years, 50,000 children have died, and the Samajwadi Party was in power four times — who will take responsibility?”

Speaking about the medical college in Siddharthnagar, he quipped, “Invite the Deputy CM there sometime and feed him a meal on that pretext. But you won’t—you’ll make an enemy out of him. At this age, one should not be making enemies.”

Questioning the opposition’s commitment to the future of the state’s children, CM Yogi said, “You had neither vision nor time because your children studied abroad. You never thought about the children here — you only cared for yourselves. You enjoyed your comforts while others starved. We aim to implement the CM Poshan Mission to ensure every child in Uttar Pradesh is covered. In your time, the liquor mafia decided how nutrition was managed; we ended that. Now, children will get nutritious food sourced from Uttar Pradesh’s produce. Perhaps that’s what worries you — strong children cannot be exploited.”

On women’s safety, CM Yogi accused the Samajwadi Party of being “openly anti-women,” adding, “Dekh Sapayi, Betiyan Ghabrayi.” Regarding appointments, he asserted, “There is no pick-and-choose policy in Uttar Pradesh — no discrimination of any kind.” Taking another dig at the opposition over respect for heritage, he said, “How can those who tear pages from the Ramcharitmanas claim to respect our heritage
