Dighi: A broad daylight murder took place in Pimpri-Chinchwad's Dighi area on Wednesday. A man came to a protein shop in the afternoon and had an argument with the shop owners. The owners, a man and a woman, then stabbed the arguing man with an iron rod, resulting in his death. The deceased has been identified as Gopinath, alias Lalla Varpe. Meanwhile, the police have arrested the accused Yash Patole and Pranjal Taware.
According to the police, Patole and Taware own a shop named Protein Puzzle Shop in Dighi. The deceased, Varpe, came there and started arguing with the duo. In the heat of the moment, both accused took matters into their own hands and attacked Varpe with an iron rod. He was seriously injured and succumbed to his injuries before treatment.

DCP Bangar continued, "They murdered Varpe with an iron rod, hitting him on the head and body. Patole and Taware left from there but are now in the police station. Dighi Police are registering a case of murder and common intention. We are investigating the matter further."
