VIDEOS: Heavy Rains In Kondhwa, Katraj, Baner And Bibwewadi Areas Of Pune

As per the forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Pune city and surrounding regions, several areas in Pune, including Kondhwa, Katraj, and Bibwewadi, received heavy rainfall on Friday.

Due to thunderstorms, the temperature in Pune has dipped, not just in areas that saw rainfall but also in other areas. The city also saw rainbows in a few areas.

Even Baner and nearby areas saw heavy rainfall.

The rain brought much-needed relief for Punekars as the temperature in April and May went above 40 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, despite the presence of adequate water in reservoirs, Pune city is facing a water shortage due to mismanagement, water theft, and infrastructural issues. The Wadgaon Water Purification Center, which was expected to meet the region’s growing demands, has instead become an example of unplanned governance. The water cuts planned for the areas have, however, been canceled by the civic body.
