Unseasonal rains lashed various places in the district and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city on Tuesday night. Farmers incurred huge losses as standing crops were destroyed due to the rain at various locations in the district. The sudden, unexpected rain created a chaotic situation among the farmers.
The rain started around 7:30 p.m. in different parts of the district. Initially, there were mild showers everywhere for about an hour. However, heavy rain along with lightning occurred late at night. Borgaon, Dhorkin, Khuldabad, Gadana, Khadipimpalgaon, Loni, Golegaon, Ghodegaon, Teesgaon, Kannad, Shiur, and other places were lashed by the unseasonal rains.
A buffalo of Amol Gawali died due to lightning in Sarola, Sillod taluka, around 2 a.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Sillod city, Bhavan, Lihakhedi, Sarola, Palod, Golegaon, Ajanta, and other places received rain on Tuesday afternoon and evening. Losses of onions, wheat, mangoes, and other crops were reported.

Meanwhile, residents were relieved from the scorching heat as the weather turned cool. Electricity was disrupted in some places, but the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) employees immediately restored the supply.
