Pune: The Pune City Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions in several parts of the city in view of a pre-scheduled rally on August 9 at 11 am. The changes will affect traffic movement around Shahid Amar Sheikh Chowk, Maldhakka Chowk, Bolhai Mata Chowk and other adjoining areas.
According to the traffic police, the rally will proceed along the route Shahid Amar Sheikh Chowk – Maldhakka Chowk – Bolhai Mata Chowk. Traffic restrictions and alternate routes have been planned to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement during the rally.
As part of the arrangements, traffic moving from Shahid Amar Sheikh Chowk towards Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted via RTO Chowk, Jehangir Chowk and the respective destination.

Vehicles travelling from RTO Chowk towards Maldhakka Chowk can take either RTO Chowk–Jehangir Chowk–respective destination or Shahid Amar Sheikh Chowk–Kumbharves–respective destination, depending on the traffic situation.
Traffic from GPO Chowk towards Bolhai Chowk will be diverted through Kirad Chowk and Nehru Memorial Chowk before proceeding towards the respective destination.
For vehicles travelling from Pune Station Chowk towards Maldhakka Chowk, the alternate route will be Pune Station–Alankar Chowk–respective destination.
Similarly, traffic from Narpatgiri Chowk towards Maldhakka Chowk will be diverted via 15 August Chowk, Kamla Nehru Hospital, Pavale Chowk and Kumbharves before proceeding towards the destination.

Traffic moving from Bennezi Chowk towards Shahid Amar Sheikh Chowk will be diverted through Power House, Narpatgiri Chowk, 15 August Chowk, Kamla Nehru Hospital, Pavale Chowk and Kumbharves.
The traffic police have also made a special provision for emergency patients visiting Sassoon General Hospital. Such patients will be allowed to enter the hospital through the gate located near the hospital's dead house.
The traffic police have appealed to citizens to avoid the affected routes during the rally and use the suggested alternative roads. Commuters have also been requested to follow instructions issued by traffic personnel to avoid congestion and inconvenience.
The diversions have been put in place as a precautionary measure to ensure that the rally takes place smoothly while minimising disruption to regular traffic in the city.
