Nashik: Even as citizens of Nashik city are currently grappling with water scarcity, they now face a complete suspension of water supply for two consecutive days. The Public Health Engineering Department of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to suspend water supply across the entire city on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5. This measure is being implemented to facilitate ongoing water supply network improvement works undertaken as part of the Smart City Project and in preparation for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027.

During this period, work will be carried out to connect a 500-millimetre diameter pipeline to a 700-millimetre main pipeline. Consequently, water supply will remain completely suspended in all wards across all zones: Nashik East, Nashik West, Panchavati, Satpur, Nashik Road, and New Nashik.

Which Areas Will Be Affected?

- Nashik East Zone: Ward No. 30 (Kalanagar), Gandhinagar, Jail Road, Deolali Camp, and the Nashik-Pune Road vicinity.

- Nashik West Zone: Trimbak Road, ABB Circle, College Road, Gangapur Road, and the P&T Colony vicinity.

The Municipal Corporation has appealed to citizens to store a sufficient quantity of water in advance, enough to last for two days, and to use water judiciously. The Corporation has also clarified that the water supply on the morning of April 6 will be at reduced pressure.

This work has been initiated to further enhance the city's water supply infrastructure under the Smart City Project. The municipal administration has stated that these works are essential for strengthening the water supply system in light of the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela.

The Municipal Corporation has urged citizens to use water consciously during these two days and to strictly avoid any form of wastage.
