Hinjawadi Waterlogging: NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule Urges CM Devendra Fadnavis To Commission Expert Study, Implement Long-Term Fix

NCP-SP Working President and Baramati MP Supriya Sule on Monday wrote a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis regarding the waterlogging issues in the Hinjawadi area of Pune. She has urged the CM to commission an expert study and implement a long-term solution for the region.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sule wrote, “Waterlogging in Hinjawadi, Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Maan, Marunji & nearby areas worsens every monsoon, causing severe inconvenience to citizens. Experts cite blocked natural water streams as a key reason. Requesting @Dev_Fadnavis to kindly order an expert study and implement a long-term solution.”

Earlier on Friday, Sule had appealed to Fadnavis to form an independent governance authority for Hinjawadi.

“There is a significant delay in resolving infrastructure-related issues in the areas of Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Hinjawadi, Maan and Marunji. Citizens are compelled to follow up with multiple agencies such as @midc_india, Municipal Corporations, Metro, @OfficialPMRDA, @MSEDCL and the Police Department, resulting in considerable loss of time and mental distress,” she wrote on X.

“To avoid this, there is an urgent need to establish an independent authority encompassing Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji and adjoining areas. A competent officer should be appointed to head this authority,” the NCP-SP MP added.

“This will greatly ease the process for citizens to raise and resolve their grievances in a timely manner. Requesting Chief Minister @Dev_Fadnavis to take serious cognisance of this matter and consider taking a positive decision in this regard. Thank you,” she further said.
