The kingpin of the Divisional Sports Complex embezzlement of Rs 21.59 crore, Harshkumar Kshirsagar, has revealed to the police that he lived a lavish life and owned goggles worth Rs 16 lakh.
Kshirsagar (23), who worked as a contractual computer operator at the Divisional Sports Complex with a salary of only Rs 13,000 per month, along with his parents and other accomplices, embezzled funds from the complex amounting to Rs 21.59 crore. They did this by submitting a false letter to the bank and transferring the money into his account.
After the embezzlement, he led a lavish lifestyle, buying three luxurious flats in prime localities, expensive cars, and bikes. In a shocking revelation, Kshirsagar admitted to purchasing a pair of goggles worth Rs 16 lakh, one of the five most expensive pairs available in the world. The goggles were bought from Germany and are adorned with 180 diamonds, with a platinum frame, sources said.
Harshkumar, who was arrested a few days ago, shared details of the goggles with the police. The police have now seized the goggles. He also confessed to purchasing a luxurious BMW car and bike to maintain his extravagant lifestyle and a 2-BHK flat in the Airport area for his girlfriend.
