Sonipat: The Motilal Oswal Foundation (MOF) has committed ₹25 crore over three years to Rishihood University to strengthen its leadership, governance, academic systems and organisational capabilities.

The partnership, formalised at Rishihood University’s Sonipat campus on August 24, marks the university’s first major philanthropic grant specifically focused on institution building and organisational development.

Unlike conventional grants tied primarily to infrastructure or individual programmes, the funding will operate under a milestone-based framework. Progress will be measured against defined outcomes covering leadership development, faculty capacity, governance, financial sustainability, academic quality, fundraising capability, research and national and international engagement.

Motilal Oswal, Chairman and Trustee of Motilal Oswal Foundation, said strong educational institutions could shape generations and contribute to nation-building. He said philanthropy creates lasting value when it leaves behind institutions capable of generating impact long after the original funding has been utilised.

For Rishihood University, the grant represents a significant shift in the nature of external funding it has received. Earlier funding has largely supported capital projects or specific programmes, while the latest commitment is aimed directly at strengthening the university’s institutional capabilities.

Rishihood University focuses on areas including computer science, data science, design, entrepreneurship, governance and public leadership.

Sahil Aggarwal, Co-Founder and CEO of Rishihood University, said the partnership represents a shared investment in the future of education and nation-building. He added that building an institution of lasting significance requires long-term vision, strong partnerships and a commitment to creating impact beyond the present.

The foundation intends the ₹25-crore funding to act as catalytic capital rather than merely additional financial support. A key objective is to help Rishihood strengthen its leadership, fundraising capacity and institutional systems so that it can diversify its resource base and sustain growth after the three-year grant period.

The partnership is aimed at building an institution with the governance, leadership and organisational resilience needed to deliver long-term educational and national impact.
