Delhi MLAs To Take Oath On Feb 24; Assembly To Table CAG Report On AAP Spending

New Delhi: The swearing-in ceremony for new ministers in Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's Delhi cabinet is scheduled for 11:00 AM on February 24, according to the Delhi Assembly bulletin.
During the three-day Assembly session, 14 pending reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), allegedly withheld by the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, will be presented on February 25.
Expected CAG Reports To Be Tabled
According to repots, the 14 pending CAG reports include the State Finances Audit Report, a Performance Audit on the Prevention and Mitigation of Vehicular Air Pollution in Delhi, and reviews covering Revenue, Economic, Social, and General Sectors, as well as Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
Additionally, reports on Finance Accounts, Appropriation Accounts, and a Performance Audit on Children in Need of Care and Protection will also be tabled during the session.
On the same day, the Lieutenant Governor will address the House. According to the Delhi Assembly bulletin, the discussion on the Motion of Thanks for the LG's address is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on February 27, followed by the election of the Deputy Speaker.
Schedule For The 3-Day Delhi Assembly Session
According to a report by News18, Rohini MLA Vijender Gupta, who has been nominated for the post of Assembly Speaker, stated that during the first cabinet meeting, it was decided to convene a three-day Assembly session on February 24, 25, and 27.
This session is likely to commence with the LG appointing a pro-tem Speaker, who will oversee proceedings as all 70 elected members take their oath as MLAs. Senior leader Arvinder Singh Lovely has been designated as the Pro-tem Speaker, a temporary position responsible for conducting House proceedings until the full-time Speaker is elected.
Following this, the elections for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker will take place. Once these appointments are finalized, the primary agenda will be to table and discuss the pending CAG report, which has already been submitted to the Speaker’s office.
