Mumbai: Jogeshwari Station, one of the busiest on the Western Line, now is set to transform into a terminus, joining the other terminus of Mumbai like Borivali, Churchgate, Mumbai Central, Bandra, and Dadar.
This change is significant for Mumbaikars, as it will relieve pressure on the already congested terminus stations and enhance train services across Mumbai.
The new Jogeshwari Terminus, costing approximately Rs. 69 crore, has been under construction. The building of a labor shed is one of several significant milestones that have already been reached. Track laying has begun, however work on crucial elements like the cover shed, service building, platform, and station building is still continuing on, according to Hindustan Times.
According to officials from Western Railway, this upgrade will significantly improve the capacity of the station, allowing it to handle more trains and passengers.

This will ease the load on Dadar, Bandra, and Mumbai Central, which are currently overwhelmed with high traffic of trains.
Once completed, Jogeshwari will also provide better access to premium outstation trains, offering a major advantage for commuters. The station's large passenger capacity will help accommodate the increasing demand, ensuring smoother travel experiences.
As reported by Hindustan Times. Western Railway officials stated, "Construction at Jogeshwari Terminus is progressing well. The island platforms are nearly finished, and we expect most of the civil work to be completed by summer. The progress of the platforms and associated infrastructure is visible on-site." This development is expected to significantly enhance travel convenience for Mumbaikars.
