Thane Crime: ACB Arrests 37-Year-Old Khardi Up-Sarpanch For Demanding ₹30,000 Bribe To Transfer Property Documents
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have apprehended 37-year-old up-sarpanch of Khardi Grampanchayat, Shahpur, for allegedly demanding a bribe from a man in order to transfer property related documents on the name of the complainant, the officials informed on Thursday. The accused up-sarpanch has been identified as M.M. Shaikh, a resident of Khardi.

Mumbai: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have apprehended 37-year-old up-sarpanch of Khardi Grampanchayat, Shahpur, for allegedly demanding a bribe from a man in order to transfer property related documents on the name of the complainant, the officials informed on Thursday. The accused up-sarpanch has been identified as M.M. Shaikh, a resident of Khardi.
According to the ACB, the complainant had purchased a house in Khardi and in order to transfer the house related documents in his name, public servant M.M. Shaikh, Up-Sarpanch, Khardi Gram Panchayat, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the complainant.
The complainant who did not want to pay the bribe, visited the ACB Thane office on May 13, and filed a written complaint against Shaikh. In accordance with the said complaint, in the verification action conducted by the ACB on Wednesday, it was established that Shaikh had demanded a bribe of Rs. 30,000 from the complainant to transfer the house title deed of the house purchased by the complainant, in his name.
