Thane: 39-Year-Old Dombivli Man Arrested With Country-Made Revolver; Accused Spread Fear In Locality

Thane: The Vishnu Nagar police arrested a man for allegedly possessing a country-made revolver and spreading terror in the locality of Dombivli. The police said that the accused has been identified as Rakesh Khopatkar, 39, a driver by profession and a resident of Dombivli.

The police said that on December 7, at 1:30 PM, he carried a country-made revolver and was roaming in the Motagaon area in Dombivli. Following this, the local residents became fearful and closed their homes.

The police stated that they received information about it; two constables, Sanjay Thorat and Harish Thorat, rushed to the spot and found that he was carrying a country-made revolver and spreading fear in the locality. They apprehended him and checked him, finding one country-made revolver in his pants. The police seized the country-made revolver, valued at Rs 50,000.

The police filed an FIR under the relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Prohibition of Maharashtra Police Act. He was arrested and produced in court and remanded to police custody.
