A 35-year-old labourer died after an iron bridge of a water tank fell while being lifted by a crane at the MIDC water filtration plant in Maharal village, Titwala. The incident occurred on Saturday at 4 PM, during the replacement of the iron bridge at the water tank in MIDC. The deceased has been identified as Bablu Kanojiya, 35, who lived with his brother-in-law in Titwala while his family members stayed in Bihar. He had joined the contractor eight months ago.
According to the police, the iron bridge was being lifted for replacement when it became imbalanced and fell on Kanojiya, trapping him underneath. Police sources said that the other seven workers involved in the task rushed to the spot and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The police have initially filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter.

Further investigation is underway. The body was handed over to his family members for final rites after conducting a post-mortem."
