Thane: 22-Year-Old Labourer Under Ventilator Support After Skull Surgery Following Metro Rod Accident
Dr. Shruti Shelke from Noble Hospital, where he is being treated, stated to the media that Dr Pupshraj, a surgeon, operated on him for around four to five hours. During the operation, the fractured bones in and around the skull were removed safely. Fortunately, there was no major blood loss during the procedure.

Thane: Following the surgery of a 22-year-old passenger, Sonu Ramjan Ali, who suffered head injuries when an iron tie rod fell from an overhead structure onto a moving autorickshaw in Bhiwandi on Tuesday, his condition is vitally stable and he has been placed in the ICU under ventilator support.
Dr. Shruti Shelke from Noble Hospital, where he is being treated, stated to the media that Dr Pupshraj, a surgeon, operated on him for around four to five hours. During the operation, the fractured bones in and around the skull were removed safely. Fortunately, there was no major blood loss during the procedure.
After the surgery, the patient was shifted to the ICU under strict monitoring. He has been placed on ventilator support which will be gradually removed after a thorough neurological assessment by the medical team. Further treatment will be planned based on this assessment.
The rod had penetrated approximately three to four inches into the skull, causing a fracture in the left orbital bone. Fortunately, his eye was saved during the incident. His vision and hearing will be monitored once the ventilator support is removed.

The rod, measuring around 3 to 4 feet in length and 20 mm in thickness, fell from the ongoing Metro-5 Thane- Bhiwandi line. Ali, a labourer, was travelling from Bage Firdous to Bhandari Compound for work when the incident occurred near Ajmer Nagar Masjid.
Senior police inspector Ashok Ratnaparkhi of Bhoiwada police station stated, “We have registered an FIR against the contractor(s) responsible for the incident under Section 125(1)(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation is currently underway.”
