Mumbai: Mumbai’s much-anticipated cable-stayed flyover on the Western Express Highway — part of the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) extension — is in its final stages. With structural work complete, the removal of the temporary support system beneath the 100-meter curved arm is currently in progress.
Finishing touches, including pier surface preparation, painting, and detailing, are being carried out at a brisk pace. These final steps are essential for ensuring the bridge’s long-term strength, safety, and visual impact.
Once opened, the bridge is expected to significantly ease traffic flow between BKC, Vakola, and adjoining areas, offering smoother east-west connectivity across the city.
