NMMC Inter-School Cultural Cup 2024-25: VIBGYOR High School Airoli Emerges Champion Among 4,000 Participants
The competitions, which included singing, dance, short plays, street plays, and processions, saw participation from over 4,000 students. Navi Mumbai: To promote art and culture among the younger generation, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) organized a variety of school-level competitions under the Inter-School Cultural Cup.
The competitions, which included singing, dance, short plays, street plays, and processions, saw participation from over 4,000 students. The grand prize distribution ceremony was held at Vishnudas Bhave Natyagraha in Vashi. Music composer Rahul Ranade and celebrated actor-dancer Nakul Ghanekar graced the occasion.
In the five competitions—singing, dance, short plays, street plays, and processions—schools that secured first, second, and third places were awarded 100, 75, and 50 points, respectively. The school with the highest cumulative score across all competitions was awarded the NMMC Inter-School Cultural Cup 2024-25. VIBGYOR High School, Airoli Sector 8A, emerged victorious, securing the highest total of 325 points.
The singing competition saw participation from 54 schools. After a rigorous selection process, VIBGYOR High School, Airoli, secured first place in the junior category, followed by NMMC School No. 42, Ghansoli, and Saraswati Vidyalaya, Airoli. In the senior category, Modern School, Vashi, claimed the top spot, with Shriram Vidyalaya, Airoli, and Chartered English Secondary School, Airoli, taking second and third place, respectively.
The dance competition had 65 schools competing. In the junior category, Terna Vidyalaya Primary School, Nerul, secured first place, while Prathamik Vidyamandir, Belapur, and Saraswati Vidyalaya, Airoli, claimed the second and third positions. In the senior category, NMMC School No. 47, Rabade, emerged as the winner, followed by PVG Vidyabhavan English School, Nerul, and VIBGYOR High School, Airoli.
The short play competition saw 28 schools participating, with VIBGYOR High School, Airoli, winning first place, followed by Vidyabhavan Primary Marathi School, Nerul, and NMMC School No. 46, Gothivali. Alhad Surve from VIBGYOR High School and Anushka Gole from Vidyabhavan Primary Marathi School were awarded Best Comedic Actor and Actress, respectively.
