Mumbai: As New Year 2025 approaches, the city is gearing up for grand celebrations. However, to ensure safety and maintain order, Mumbai Police has issued stringent guidelines for popular celebration spots such as Gateway of India and Marine Drive.

According to the police, loud music and firecrackers are strictly prohibited at these locations during the New Year celebrations. To enforce these restrictions, a heavy police presence has been deployed.

Both Gateway of India and Marine Drive witness large crowds every New Year. Given the proximity of residential buildings in these areas, activities like bursting firecrackers or lighting flame lanterns pose significant fire hazards. Additionally, loud music causes noise pollution and inconveniences residents. To address these concerns, Mumbai Police has appealed to citizens to celebrate responsibly without flouting the rules.

Boat Parties Banned in Coastal Areas

In another significant move, Mumbai Police has banned all boat parties in Mumbai’s coastal areas during New Year’s Eve. This decision was made during a meeting between senior police officials and representatives of the Bombay Port Trust (BPT) and Mumbai Port Trust (MPT).

Sources revealed that entry into the sea will be completely restricted after 2 PM today. Mumbai Police will patrol the coastal waters continuously to prevent any unauthorized boat parties. Strict action will be taken against anyone found violating these regulations.

The police have urged citizens to cooperate and follow the guidelines for a safe and enjoyable New Year celebration.
