Navi Mumbai: Police Commissionerate In Belapur Beautified With Warli Paintings And Green Initiatives
In a display of environmental commitment and civic responsibility, a group of environment - Navi Mumbai Seva team, completed a beautification project at the Navi Mumbai Commissionerate Office in Belapur.

The boundary walls of Navi Mumbai police commissionerate, Belapur are adorned with intricate warli paintings. The artwork along with activities like tree plantation on the police property was an initiative undertaken by a group of environmental lovers keen on uplifting cities image through sustainable ways.
In a display of environmental commitment and civic responsibility, a group of environment - Navi Mumbai Seva team, completed a beautification project at the Navi Mumbai Commissionerate Office in Belapur.
The activity was done under the leadership of Sanjay Kumar Patil, Deputy Commissioner, HQ, Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate, Belapur.
Reflecting on the success of the project, deputy commissioner l remarked, “This beautification project is a tribute to the spirit of Shivaji Maharaj, whose leadership principles rooted in courage, consciousness, compassion, and community remain timeless. By fostering sustainability and collective responsibility, we can create spaces that inspire and elevate our communities.
The initiative was observed by the team to be an example of sustainable urban transformation.
This initiative was undertaken as part of the Navi Mumbai Seva Project along with the teams campaign #OurCityOurResponsibility. .
The beautification efforts featured vibrant Warli paintings, a plantation drive, and awareness sessions aimed at fostering a culture of cleanliness and sustainability among employees. “The intricate wall paintings, bursting with creativity and color, have significantly enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the office while instilling a sense of pride and ownership among staff and visitors alike,” said a police personnel
A standout feature of the initiative was the plantation drive, “ The drive has transformed the office surroundings into a greener and more tranquil environment. The lush greenery not only enhanced the visual appeal but also improved air quality, contributing to a healthier and more uplifting workplace atmosphere. These efforts were complemented by awareness sessions emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship, encouraging employees to actively participate in maintaining a clean and green workspace, said Dharmendra Kar, the founder of the Individual social responsibility ISR WAY Foundation.
The project saw active support from Bhanudas Tathe, whose contributions helped ensure smooth coordination and successful execution. The efforts were spearheaded by Dharmendra Kar, the founder of the Individual social responsibility ISR WAY Foundation, with the guidance and vision of Hamid Khan, the founder of the Divya Nur Foundation and the driving force behind the Navi Mumbai Seva project & #OurCityOurResponsibility campaign."
Dharmendra Kar added, “Our goal has always been to show how collective and individual efforts can transform surroundings into spaces of pride and inspiration. This project demonstrates how simple actions, like planting greenery and creating art, can uplift communities and promote sustainable practices.” He expressed gratitude to the Navi Mumbai Seva team for their unwavering support and extended special thanks to Artist Sandesh Gaikwad and the Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai Samaritans for their valuable contributions.
Hamid Khan, whose campaign has been pivotal in promoting collective social responsibility through his organization's Alliance-Based Community Development (ABCD) Approach, praised the team’s efforts, saying, “This initiative highlights the transformative power of collaboration. It’s heartening to see the Navi Mumbai Seva team and the Commissionerate staff embracing the values of sustainability and environmental care. I hope this inspires more Navi Mumbaikars to join hands and create positive change. As I often say, ‘Sahyog hai to Sambhav hai’ (With collaboration, everything is possible).”
In a letter of appreciation to Navi Mumbai Seva, the Commissioner of Police commended the team’s dedication and ability to set a meaningful example for the community. He noted that small yet impactful actions, like this initiative, align with the broader vision of making Navi Mumbai a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful city. The Commissioner extended his best wishes to the team for their ongoing #OurCityOurResponsibility campaign, expressing hope that more residents will embrace the spirit of individual and collective responsibility for the city’s welfare.
