Navi Mumbai: Panvel Municipal Corporation To Fast-Track Development Projects, Including Morgue, Cremation Ground Renovation And Solar Panel Installation
Instructions were issued to the electrical department to provide a detailed report on the feasibility of having solar panels on the skywalks. The report is also required to identify means to ensure no electricity thefts happen within the corporation area.

Civic officials of the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) have a series of development work to be undertaken for the area. In a meeting held by the municipal commissioner on January 20 , the officials were instructed to fast track development projects.
The work instructed to be undertaken are preparation of a budget estimate for setting up of a morgue within the municipal limits, undertaking renovation of the existing cremation ground, construction of new schools at three locations in the area, a detailed parking policy which will look into the fares to levied and the available parking space as well as a review of the various construction projects.
“This was a review meeting of various development projects presently underway within the corporation. The department heads were issued instructions to expedite the completion of the projects. Officials were asked to prepare the budget estimates needed for these projects,” said an official

Further instructions were given to the town planning department regarding the identification of land for burial grounds for the minority community, and for providing housing spaces for tribal communities. The Commissioner also directed the department to follow up on land issues related to the Asudgaon Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The health department was directed to plan for the establishment of public toilets in the municipal limits, with a special focus on setting up modern toilets at the Kalamboli Steel Market. The Commissioner also reviewed the work related to installing air monitors in Panvel Municipal Corporation to monitor air pollution levels.
" there will be strict monitoring of unauthorized weekly markets . Officials are asked to register street vendors and issue them licenses. Likewise immediate action against unauthorized hoardings, flex boards, and banners, as well as to issue notices and file cases against those responsible are other instructions given," said the official.
