A potentially fatal electric accident was narrowly avoided in Pendhar village, Kharghar division, thanks to the swift response of Panvel Municipal Corporation’s Electrical Department Head, Pritam Patil.
On the night of May 21, a live power conductor of MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) snapped and fell on the main road during rain. Coincidentally, Pritam Patil was in the area for a family function when he spotted the fallen live wire. "Sensing the gravity of the situation, he immediately contacted municipal electrical supervisor Rohan Bhoir and instructed that the power supply becut off to prevent any mishap," said an official
Due to this prompt action, a major electrical accident was successfully averted. The incident was immediately reported to MSEDCL for further follow-up and repair work.
