While silt and garbage were successfully removed from the stormwater drains to prevent waterlogging during the rainy season, the waste has been left unattended along the roadside.

Navi Mumbai: Pre-monsoon drain cleaning was recently carried out on the footpath stretch between Saibaba Hotel and Goodwill Apartment in Nerul’s Sector 10. While silt and garbage were successfully removed from the stormwater drains to prevent waterlogging during the rainy season, the waste has been left unattended along the roadside.
Locals report that the removed silt has now begun to spread onto the road, causing inconvenience and a strong foul odor in the area. The situation has sparked concerns over hygiene and public health, especially with the monsoon fast approaching.

Residents have demanded that the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation take swift action to clear the waste and sanitize the area. They have also warned that if the waste is not removed within the next two days, they will be forced to collect it and dump it at the office of the concerned departmental officer as a form of protest.
The community has urged the authorities to treat the issue with urgency and ensure proper post-cleaning waste management going forward.
