Mumbai: The Matunga Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the theft of iron barricades from a road construction site in Parsi Colony, undertaken by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The accused, identified as Mahesh Surendra Prasad Gupta, a resident of Khadavali, Kalyan, was apprehended with the help of technical surveillance and informant intelligence.
The incident, which took place a month ago, was registered under Section 303(2) of BNS. Following an intensive investigation, the Crime Detection Unit successfully traced and arrested Gupta on February 19. His confession led to further revelations about his involvement in multiple other theft cases.
