Mumbai: Police Yet To Take Action Against Driver In Worli Accident That Injured 2 Pedestrians

Mumbai: In the case of the Worli accident, the Worli police are yet to take action against the accused. The delay in action is because he was admitted to Nair Hospital and discharged on Monday evening. The accident occurred near Poonam Chambers in Worli on Sunday afternoon, injuring three individuals. A car crashed into a bus stop, injuring two pedestrians and the car driver.

The two pedestrians, Ajay Shah, 62 and Manoj Chaudhary, 50, are still receiving treatment in the hospital. Shah is admitted to a private hospital, while Chaudhary is in Nair Hospital.

Dattatray Kamble, Deputy commissioner of police zone-3, stated, "The health condition of both Shah and Chaudhary is stable now, however, they are still hospitalised. The car driver, Shubham Bansode, 24, was discharged on Monday evening. He is still recovering, and we will soon issue a notice to him and take action as per the law."

The Worli police on Sunday registered a case against the driver, Shubham Bansode, 24, who is the son of a lawyer and works in a private company. According to the police, Bansode, a resident of Worli, was driving with three friends on Sunday. Around 12.30 p.m., they began their journey from Maya Nagar near Worli Naka. While traveling southbound near Poonam Chamber, Bansode lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a bus stop, injuring two pedestrians.

Ajay Shah, 62, a resident of Tardeo, and Manoj Chaudhary, 50, were injured in the accident. Chaudhary, who works as a driver at Poonam Chamber, sustained head injuries and a fractured leg, while Shah suffered a head injury. Bansode suffered a dislocated shoulder. The police confirmed that Bansode had a valid driving license and did not appear to be intoxicated at the time of the accident.
