The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) in Mumbai has recently introduced a new online system to streamline the distribution of Project Affected People (PAP) apartments. The system allows eligible slum dwellers to apply for PAP apartments without the need to visit the SRA office, provided the building has received an occupancy certificate.
This user-friendly platform lets applicants track the status of their applications and access information about apartment allocations.
The new system also incorporates an online lottery feature, ensuring a transparent and fair allocation process. According to SRA officials, this digital approach aims to enhance transparency, reduce bureaucratic delays, and simplify the entire application procedure.
The online system is seen as a step towards more efficient and equitable distribution of housing to the beneficiaries according to SRA.
