Mumbai: A fresh bomb threat has raised alarm in Mumbai, this time targeting the ISKCON temple located in the Girgaon area. An anonymous email sent to the temple’s official email ID claimed that five RDX IEDs would be detonated within 16 hours if certain political demands were not met.
Following the threat, Gamdevi police registered a case against an unidentified person and launched a full-scale investigation with the help of the crime branch and cyber experts.
According to the police, the threat was reported by Rahul Shantaram Govekar (40), Security Manager of the ISKCON temple. In his complaint, Govekar stated that the temple's executive committee uses the email address info@iskconchowpatty.com for official communication, and that’s where the threat mail was received on July 20 at around 7:30 PM.
The email, sent from the ID Immanuel_sekaran@outlook.com to the temple’s official address, warned that if the recommendations of the late Nainar Dass of the TN Police Association were not implemented by the DMK government, explosive devices would be detonated inside the temple within 16 hours.
