Mumbai: Malvani Police Arrest Two For Blackmailing Colleague With Semi-Nude Video In Extortion Plot

Mumbai: The Malvani police on Friday arrested two persons for allegedly kidnapping a 27- year-old man, coercing him into making a semi-nude video, and extorting lakhs of rupees from him. The accused have been identified as Agnel Gomes and Aditya Badekar.

The police said Gomes held a managerial position at a call centre in Andheri West, where the victim also worked. Gomes allegedly humiliated the man, prompting him to lodge a complaint with their seniors. Consequently, both lost their jobs. The accused later forced the man to record a seminude video. In a further attempt to defame him, they handed him a packet of cannabis and filmed him holding it, trying to portray him as a drug dealer.

On Thursday night, the man was intercepted, allegedly assaulted and threatened with the video. After extorting an undisclosed amount of money, they dropped him off near his residence in Malad.
