Mumbai: A horrific accident took place in Mumbai's Kurla on Monday, December 9 evening. Four people have lost their lives and around 25 people have suffered serious injuries in the accident. The horrific accident was caught on CCTV camera installed in the area and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that the speeding BEST electric bus rams into vehicles parked on the side of the narrow road and also hits the people standing near the vehicles.
The horrific accident reportedly claimed the lives of around three people and left over 20 injured as per initial reports. However, more people are feared injured and casualties might increase as the people injured in the accident are critically injured. The accident reported occurred in the market located opposite L Ward, Anjum-E-Islam School, S G Barve Marg, Kurla (West).
The video shows that a BEST bus is passing through the narrow road and vehicles are seen parked on both sides of the road. An autorickshaw is also seen parked on the side of the road and two young men are seen indulged in conversation near the auto. As the BEST bus was passing, another BEST electric bus sped through the narrow passage and rammed into the auto and one of the individuals standing on the road. The bus which seemed to be out of control went on to hit more vehicles on the road and also injuring the people present inside these vehicles and also the people standing on the road.
There are reports that the injured have been rushed to the nearby hospital. They are severely injured in the accident and many people are in critical condition.
