Mumbai: An FIR has been registered against a person named Pradeep Bhalekar at Samta Nagar Police Station on Wednesday for using derogatory words on social media against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis & Union minister Narayan Rane. Search is on to nab the accused.
Reportedly, Bhalekar was booked after a police officer from cyber branch discovered his tweets during routine check. The Samata Nagar police has booked him under various sections of the IPC, stated reports.
A report in the Indian Express stated that he was booked under sections 153 A and B for inciting animosity between various groups, 500 (defamation), 504 (intentional insult), and 505 (2) (public mischief which will alarm public) of the IPC.
According to the report, Bhalekar, resident of Malad, had posted a handwritten letter addressing Bombay High Court on Sunday. In this letter he had criticised them and levelled false accusations.

Reportedly, Bhalekar was earlier held by the cops for posting derogatory material on his social media account against Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari.
Following Koshyari's remark about the city having no money if Gujaratis or Rajasthanis were to depart, Bhalekar had posted derogatory comments and was charged under various sections of IPC and IT Act.
