Mumbai Crime Branch Busts Illegal Firearms Racket; 2 Uttar Pradesh Men Arrested With Pistols Near Chedda Nagar In Ghatkopar
The Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 6 has arrested two men for illegally possessing firearms near Chedda Nagar Junction in Ghatkopar. The arrests were made today following a tip-off about individuals attempting to sell illegal weapons in the area.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 6 has arrested two men for illegally possessing firearms near Chedda Nagar Junction in Ghatkopar. The arrests were made today following a tip-off about individuals attempting to sell illegal weapons in the area.
The FIR have been registered under BNS Section 3, 25 of the Arms Act and Section 37(1)(A), 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act), the complaint was filed by Police Hawaldar Ankush Wankhede attached to Crime Branch Unit 6, Chembur.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rajesh Kumar Mahendrasingh Kumbhar alias Guddu Kumar (23), a samosa vendor, resident of Nagla Sarkhi village, Civil Lines Post, Badaun Tehsil, Uttar Pradesh and Amit Sudhir Sharma (20), a furniture worker, resident of Jagat village, Badaun, Uttar Pradesh.
Seized items from the duo include One country-made pistol with a steel body worth Rs 57,000, One country-made pistol with an iron body worth Rs 44,000, Two live cartridges worth Rs 2,400 and Rs 500 in cash and two mobiles. Total value of seized property is Rs 1,30,900
The raid was conducted based on a specific intelligence input. Police officers, along with two panch witnesses, intercepted the suspects near Shinde Sai Hotel on Jijamata Bhosale Marg, near Chedda Nagar Junction.
Upon frisking, they were found in possession of two illegal firearms, live cartridges, and other incriminating materials. A detailed seizure panchnama was prepared on-site.
Both accused were arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act. The weapons have been sent for forensic examination. The accused were produced before the court after undergoing medical examination for custodial remand.
