Maharashtra: Palghar Police Seize Indian Made Foreign Liquor Worth ₹19.7 Lakh, 2 Arrested
On Wednesday, a police patrol team spotted the tempo near Khambala and intercepted it based on suspicion. Initially, the vehicle appeared empty, and its occupants claimed they were traveling from Silvassa in the neighbouring Dadra and Nagar Haveli Union Territory, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganpat Pingle (Jawhar division).

Palghar: Police have seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 19.7 lakh, which was being transported illegally in a tempo in Maharashtra's Palghar district, authorities reported on Thursday. Two individuals from the tempo have been arrested, police said.
On Wednesday, a police patrol team spotted the tempo near Khambala and intercepted it based on suspicion. Initially, the vehicle appeared empty, and its occupants claimed they were traveling from Silvassa in the neighbouring Dadra and Nagar Haveli Union Territory, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganpat Pingle (Jawhar division).
However, the police grew suspicious and conducted a more thorough search, discovering two hidden cavities beneath the vehicle where the liquor was stored.
The authorities seized IMFL of various brands, with a total value of Rs 19,70,120.
The two arrested individuals, hailing from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, have been charged under the Prohibition Act.
