Mumbai: The state government has simplified the registration process of properties and rental agreements. Buyers and sellers of houses and shops or other properties can now register their properties at any registrar office in the city, regardless of the property’s location.

The circular was issued on January 29 by the Deputy Inspector General of Registrar from Pune. It will be implemented from February 17, providing ample flexibility.

The new rule has been made possible through computerisation of property documents and registration processes, which allows seamless transactions across different offices.

Additionally, this initiative is expected to reduce the workload at individual registration offices, ensuring more efficient services.
