Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 53 COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the state's tally since January 1 this year to 2,281, a health department official said.
No death has been reported in the state since Thursday, he added.
The new cases comprise 18 from Pune, 11 from Mumbai, eight from Nagpur, six from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, four from Thane, two from Kolhapur, and one each from Nashik, Satara, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli, the health department said.
Mumbai's tally since the start of the year stands at 923, including 435 cases detected in May and 482 in June.
