Navi Mumbai: A special programme to mark International Yoga Day will be held at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre near Vashi Railway Station on June 21, 2025, at 6:30 AM, under the joint auspices of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), CIDCO, and The Art of Living Foundation.
This year, International Yoga Day is being celebrated worldwide with the theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," emphasizing the importance of yoga for holistic wellbeing — physical, mental, intellectual, and spiritual. The day underscores the global acceptance of yoga as a vital gift from Indian culture to the world.
In Navi Mumbai, a city renowned for its cleanliness, the event is being organized with the message "Cleanliness for Health – Yoga for Wellbeing" under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde. The programme will highlight the connection between hygiene, public health, and the practice of yoga.
The civic body has appealed to citizens, members of various organizations, institutions, housing societies, teachers, students, women, and senior citizens to participate in large numbers. The objective is to promote the significance of personal and public health while spreading awareness about the benefits of yoga as a means to achieve overall wellness.
Dignitaries, health enthusiasts, and yoga practitioners from across the city are expected to attend the event, making it a grand celebration of health, discipline, and the ancient practice of yoga.
