'Glass House’ Warning: Eknath Shinde Defends Kadam Duo, Highlights Welfare Push At Goregaon Event |
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde issued a sharp warning to the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction, saying, “Those living in glass houses should not throw stones at others.” He was responding to allegations made by UBT leaders against Shiv Sena’s senior leader Ramdas Kadam and Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam during the ongoing Assembly session.
Speaking at a special camp organized under the state government’s “Shasan Aplya Dari” (Government at Your Doorstep) initiative at NESCO Grounds in Goregaon, Shinde strongly defended his party colleagues and took aim at his political rivals. The camp was organized by Siddhesh Kadam and attended by several prominent leaders, including Gajanan Kirtikar, Ramdas Kadam, and MP Ravindra Waikar.
“Elections come and go, but some people only remember the public when it’s time to malign others. They are angry because they did nothing for the Marathi people all these years,” Shinde said. “They should remember that if you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones.”
Highlighting his government’s commitment to the Marathi community, Shinde declared that the dream of the late Balasaheb Thackeray to provide 40 lakh homes for Marathi-speaking citizens was being realized. “Work is underway to construct 35 lakh homes. We are especially focusing on bringing back Marathi people who have been forced to move out of Mumbai. We want them to return to a city where they have their rightful place.”
“I was not born with a silver spoon, but I want to place one in the hand of every citizen,” he added.
Praising leaders Siddhesh, Yogesh, and Ramdas Kadam for their dedication, Shinde emphasized the importance of Shiv Sena branches (shakhas), calling them “temples of justice” that have served the people for decades. “Even I started my journey from such service and rose to become Chief Minister. During my tenure, we have taken many important decisions and launched several welfare schemes.”
He highlighted key initiatives like the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’, youth training schemes, and farmers’ assistance programs. “Under Ladki Bahin Yojana alone, 2.5 crore women have benefited, and I have become their beloved brother,” he said. “Despite criticism, the scheme proved to be a game changer and helped us secure a historic electoral victory.”

The Deputy CM also spoke about the success of the “Shasan Aplya Dari” initiative, stating that over 5 crore citizens across Maharashtra have directly benefited from it. During the event, Shinde handed out official certificates and documents to thousands of beneficiaries of various government schemes.
“Earlier, people had to make endless visits to government offices to get their work done. Now, the government is coming to their doorstep. This has made a real difference in people’s lives,” he said.
Addressing students present at the event, Shinde said they are the future of the nation and must be encouraged through such government programs. “These efforts will inspire the youth and give them the means to shape their future.”
