Mumbai: Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti is a revered festival in Maharashtra. This year marks Shivaji's 395th birthday. On this special day, an event was observed at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti on Wednesday, February 19. A celebration and pooja were held at the station by Central Railway. In Mumbai, this event is held annually at many locations, including Thane, Dadar, Bhandup and the CSMT station.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti celebrates the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the prominent Maratha warrior king and founder of the Maratha Empire. The birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is also known as Shiv Jayanti, is a significant occasion across India, especially in Maharashtra.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Minister Ashish Shelar were also present on this occasion in Pune.
