Shraddha Walkar's Father Vikas Walkar Dies Due To Heart Attack In Vasai; Accused Aftab Poonawala Still Undergoing Murder Trial
Shraddha Walkar was murdered by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawalla in 2022 in Delhi. There are reports that he was waiting for justice with his daughter's ashes as the murder case is still ongoing in the court.

Mumbai, February 9: In a tragic incident, Shraddha Walkar's father, Vikas Walkar, passed away due to a heart attack in Vasai on Sunday. Shraddha Walkar was murdered by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawalla in 2022 in Delhi. There are reports that he was waiting for justice with his daughter's ashes as the murder case is still ongoing in the court.
There were reports in November last year of Delhi's Tihar Jail mulling to review the security arrangements for Shraddha Walkar murder accused Aftab Poonawala who had allegedly received after threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
It was revealed that Lonkar surveilled areas of Delhi including those around Saket court intending to attack Poonawala outside the court.
But the plan couldn't come to fruition allegedly because the Bishnoi gang could not find shooter for the job.
Akola Police in Maharashtra arrested Lonkar and his brother in 2023.
The Shraddha Walkar Murder Case
Walkar was allegedly strangled to death by Aftab Poonawala, her live-in-partner, in May 2022. Poonawala then cut her body into 35 pieces and stored them in a refrigerator. One-by-one, he discarded the pieces at many locations in Delhi.
Shraddha and Aftab had moved to New Delhi away from her family as her parents did not approve of the relationship.
In January 2023, after Poonawala's arrest, Delhi Police filed a chargesheet containing more than 6600 pagaes. Charges of murder and disappearance were framed against Aftab.
