BJP's Ram Shinde Elected Unopposed As Chairperson Of Maharashtra Legislative Council
The council chairperson's position had been vacant since July 7, 2022, following the end of NCP leader Ramraje NaikNimbalkar's term. With Shinde's election, the presiding officer's posts in both houses of the state legislature are now held by the BJP.

Nagpur: BJP legislator Ram Shinde was elected unopposed as the chairperson of the Maharashtra Legislative Council on Thursday.
The council chairperson's position had been vacant since July 7, 2022, following the end of NCP leader Ramraje NaikNimbalkar's term. With Shinde's election, the presiding officer's posts in both houses of the state legislature are now held by the BJP.
