50-Year-Old Mira Road Car Dealer Falls Victim To Credit Card Scam, Loses ₹1.3 Lakh
A 50-year-old man from Mira Road who is into the business of selling and buying cars became the latest victim of cyber fraud after he lost Rs.1.30 lakh upon clicking an unsolicited link sent by cyber crooks under the guise of helping him redeem points on his credit card.

Mira Bhayandar: A 50-year-old man from Mira Road who is into the business of selling and buying cars became the latest victim of cyber fraud after he lost Rs.1.30 lakh upon clicking an unsolicited link sent by cyber crooks under the guise of helping him redeem points on his credit card.
About The Case
In his complaint to the police, the car dealer Zeeshan Khan stated that he received a call from an unknown person who introduced himself as the representative of the multinational bank from which he had a credit card. Under the guise of helping him redeem points on his card, the crooks sent him a link to his WhatsApp number.
Upon clicking the link, Rs 1.30 lakh got deducted from his credit card account and the number from which he had received the message and calls became unreachable. An offence under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Information Technology Act has been registered against the crooks at the Naya Nagar police station. Further investigations were underway.
