Water Supply To Remain Hit In Many Areas Of Indore On January 8

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Supply to remain hit in many areas on Wednesday due to repair work on pumps at Jalud pumping station.  All pumps at Narmada Phase I and II were shut down to facilitate the repair and reinstallation of the old sluice valve and non-return valve (NRV) at Pump House No 2 at 10.05 am January 6.

The maintenance work was essential to ensure the long-term efficiency of the water supply system. After completing the initial repairs, the pumps, capable of delivering 95 MLD water, were restarted on January 7 at 1:00 pm.

However, operations were disrupted again at 4:50 pm due to an issue at Pump House No 3, necessitating a complete shutdown of all pumps. “As a result of these interruptions, several areas are expected to face water supply shortages on the morning of Wednesday as overhead tanks in as many as 18 pockets could not be filled,” said water works incharge Abhishek Sharma.

Areas Affected

The areas connected to overhead tanks at Annapurna, Scheme No 103, Chhatribagh, Raj Mohalla, MOG Line, Lokmanya Nagar, Dravid Nagar, Maharana Pratap Nagar, Kushwaha Mohalla, Narwal, Agarbatti Complex, Tigria Badshah, Subhash Chowk, Sadar Bazaar, Gandhi Hall, Bhakt Prahlad Nagar, Jinsi Haat  Ground, and Banganga Muktidham would remain affected.

Residents in these areas have been advised by IMC to store sufficient water in advance and use water judiciously until the supply is restored to normal.
