Thieves Break Into Shop, Set It On Fire In Indore

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A fire broke out in a medical store in the Chhoti Gwaltoli area on Thursday morning. After seeing smoke emanating from the shop, locals informed the shop owner and the fire brigade.
It is said that unidentified miscreants broke into the store, stole valuables and then set it on fire. The fire brigade reached the scene and extinguished the flames. Chhoti Gwaltoli police station in-charge Sanju Kamle said that the incident occurred in the medical shop and the fire had spread to the second floor.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. As the shop owner suspected of theft, an FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team was sent to the spot.
The CCTV footage near the spot is also being examined. Shop owner Ashu Bhargava said that there is a rear entrance to the shop where the latch was found broken. He said that items worth Rs 3-4 lakh are missing. The miscreants entered through the back door, committed the theft and set the shop ablaze, he said.
According to the fire brigade, the fire was reported at 5:45 am. A firefighting team was dispatched to the scene and began extinguishing the flames. Firefighters used ladders to reach the upper floors and continued spraying water. The building contained a large stock of medicines and other items. The fire brigade managed to bring the fire under control by 10 am.
