Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A huge drop was seen in the prices of Mangoes in Madhya Pradesh's Indore market since the arrival of monsoon in the state.
Due to heavy rainfall, the demand for the 'King of Fruits' has fallen below the daily supply rate. Mangoes are now being sold in bulk at ₹10 to ₹80 per kg.
Despite this, the number of customers remains low.
According to information, over 100 tonnes of Lagada, Dussehri, Chaunsa, Safeda, Lucknowi and Ramkali mangoes are arriving daily from Malihabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Banaras of Uttar Pradesh in Devi Ahilyabai Fruit and Vegetable Market of Indore. They are being sold in bulk at ₹10 to ₹30 per kg.
Fruit trader Munavvar Sheikh said that the mango season will continue for the next two months. Due to rain and storm, mangoes are falling from the trees on their own. There is no need to pluck them. Due to this, the supply of mangoes has increased.
Despite this, customers are not being found.
